ACTION: Remove 50 lionfish, get rewarded

INFO: Remove 50 or more lionfish between Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day (May 14, 2016) and the end of September to get entered in the FWC’s Lionfish Challenge. The person who “checks in” the most lionfish will be crowned Florida’s Lionfish King or Queen. Visit MyFWC.com/Lionfish and click on “Lionfish Challenge” to learn more.

EDUCTION: Lionfish are an invasive species that have a potential negative impact on native species and habitat. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) encourages people to remove lionfish from Florida waters to help limit negative impacts to native marine life and ecosystems. Lionfish can be speared, caught in hand-held nets or caught on hook and line and there is no recreational or commercial bag limit. READ MORE >
